Cupping- this needle-free technique is like a reverse massage!
Have you tried CUPPING? It uses glass cups to create a vacuum suction in order to increase blood flow improve circulation, and decrease pain in an area on the body. Cupping benefits the lungs, treats coughing and asthma, and combats pain in multiple areas of the body. In fact, respiratory conditions are one of the most common disorders that cupping is used to treat.
In a typical cupping session, glass cups are warmed using a cotton ball or other flammable substance, which is soaked in alcohol, let, then placed inside the cup. Burning a substance inside the cup removes all the oxygen, which creates a vacuum.
Drawing up the skin is designed to open up the skin’s pores, which helps to stimulate the flow of blood, balances and realigns the flow of qi, breaks up obstructions, and creates an avenue for toxins to be drawn out of the body.
Depending on the condition being treated, the cups will be left in place from 5 to 15 minutes. Several cups may be placed on a patient’s body at the same time. Some practitioners will also apply small amounts of medicated oils or herbal oils to the skin just before the cupping procedure, which lets them move the cups up and down particular Acupuncture -points and meridians after they have been applied (called “Moving Cupping”).
So say goodbye to those pesky steroids and inhalers, and say hello to cupping! Cupping is also perfect for athletes with sore muscles! With a gentle myofascial release, the cups break up all of that lactic acid that builds up after a serious workout or run. Thus, leaving you with less cramping, soreness, and most importantly less downtime!
